We spent years paying for leads. So we built a better way.
REFERX is owned and run by Hayden Bird and Ryan Hales. Two business owners from Utah who want local businesses to grow by word of mouth, not by writing bigger checks to Facebook and Google.
Our story
We're both born and raised in Utah. We met in 2018 working at a sales and marketing company, selling over the phone, and quickly became the top two reps in the company. We've been business partners and good friends ever since.
Since then we've owned and run businesses in credit and finance, restaurants and marketing. In some of them we spent over $150,000 a month just to get leads. We kept saying the same thing: it would be so nice to get customers that didn't cost a fortune, and kept coming in month after month.
The answer was sitting right there. Happy customers already tell their friends. Most businesses just don't ask at the right time, can't tell who sent who, and forget to say thank you.
So we built REFERX: one simple tool that asks every customer after every job, tracks every referral, and sends the thank-you reward for you. It's built for local service businesses, and for any business that wants more customers without spending more on ads.
The owners
Hayden Bird
Co-owner
Hayden left college early and found his career in sales and marketing, and never looked back. He's married with three girls and a boy, and spends his free time outdoors with them: golfing, hunting and out on the boat.
Ryan Hales
Co-owner
Ryan graduated from Utah Valley University with a degree in information systems, and he's the one behind the software. He has two boys, and when he's not with his family he's snowmobiling, on the boat, or talking about trucks and fast cars.
We're both family men, deeply rooted in our faith as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We try to run REFERX the way we'd want to be treated: honest, simple and easy to reach.
